During the Community Blueprint process, lack of financial understanding and money management was identified as a key component in addressing many of the economic needs and concerns facing Licking County residents.

The Community Blueprint identified youth as a key target for financial responsibility education. The Licking County United Way has embraced this initiative and has incorporated the message into our organization in two ways.

  • The United Way staff has taken an active role in participating in financial responsibility education for middle and high school youth in the county.

  • United Way has been working with our partner agencies that serve youth to find ways of incorporating financial responsibility education into their programming. To see more about the program offered to youth at our partner agencies, click here. For helpful hints on how to talk to and teach your children about financial responsibility, click here. The following are additional web sites you may find helpful when speaking with your child: http://hsfpp.nefe.org, www.citigroup.com, www.learntosave.com
